Pylon Seat item #L4J3M6YOUL

This sleek seat is based on a traditional shape, which has been dramatically transformed into a strikingly futuristic design. Taking inspiration from pylons that support power lines, the designers constructed the base of the seat from twin uprights that anchor the seat to the floor. Two layers of thick slats are glued together to form the seat, which is gripped between the upper reaches of the base supports. Pylon is a perfect complement to high-design environments, or any setting where design takes centre stage. A bench version is also available.

The support posts are made in 8 mm bent sheet steel, electro zinc-plated, gold-chromed and powder-lacquered in white. The seat is made from glued stained pine slats for indoor use only and in oiled ipe wood for outdoor use. The seat bolts to the ground.
